MSJ Advertising/Office Manager

The Monroe Street Journal (MSJ), the independent newspaper of the
business school (http://www.themsj.com/), would like to inform you of a great
job opportunity as the MSJ's Advertising/Office Manager.

The job takes 20 hours a week on average, and is very flexible.
Compensation is based on experience. Candidates must commit to at
least 1 full year and also have permission to legally work in the US.
The job would begin this December, with some training from the
outgoing manager during the first few weeks.
Candidates should possess strong oral and written communication
skills, good organizational skills, and proficiency with computers
(Windows OS, MAC OS, MS Office Software, Quick Books, Adobe Creative
Suite, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Managing everyday office operations (including phone and email
messages, mail, filing systems and supplies)
Managing relationships with national, local and business school
advertisers (including solicitation for advertising and column
sponsorships)
Maintaining staff incentive program
Maintaining advertising database (print and online editions)
Processing incoming and outgoing invoices
Distribution of newspaper (local, mail and subscription)
Serving as a member of the executive board and participating fully in
long and short-term decisions regarding the paper's non-profit and
publishing activities (including content from partners’ prospective)
Organizing special events
Helping design ads as necessary
Maintaining subscription database
Maintaining relationship with Office of Student Life
Developing ideas for business development
